Have been extremely happy with the 8-quart freezer I purchased several years ago and use it several times a year for family and work parties. Have been checking back occasionally to see if a kit for an electric motor was available and each time they were out of stock and did not know when they would be available. When I saw that it was available this past summer I ordered it along with a few other items. I live in Ohio, so it arrived FAST! The motor is quite unlike top mounted freezer motors on smaller ones, and it shuts off when the ice cream reaches a frosty consistency. Saved a lot of cranking by hand when I have made several batches in a row without any kids to take turns cranking by hand. I purchased an extra gear head frame so I can still use the hand crank one and the store had already mounted the motor, so it was all ready to go right out of the box. It is a sturdy motor and gearbox and am very happy with the quality they selected to sell.
